Individual appointments for individualized support.
“Why are flamingos pink?”
“What makes an anglerfish’s lure glow?” “How do magnets stick?”
Children are naturally curious, and I have had to look up the answer to each of these questions at some point in my teaching career. As children grow older, reading becomes the key to unlocking the world’s wonders for themselves.
This is why the building blocks of reading - phonics - are so highly regarded throughout so many different methods of teaching; Barton, Hooked On Phonics, Montessori, Orton-Gillingham, Bob Books, All About Reading, Foundations Phonics, the list goes on!
But reading is only 1/3 of the language trinity. Writing and speaking are also part of how we process language and can be just as important as we grow older. If you or your child are looking for support in reading, writing, or language learning, I offer one-on-one sessions in a peaceful environment where we can build those skills.
I have utilized many different methods for teaching language over the years, and I have found that every person builds their language skills differently, and at their own pace. I am Barton-trained up to the 5th level and have found that it is a complementary method to use with Montessori language materials. I also implement games, activities, and worksheets, all supported by the latest information and best practices for language learning.
